I was quite surprised that V made the cuts to be screened considering the innuendoes of current political/military scene. And of course, what struck me most from the show is "Man doesn't learn from history".
Admittedly, I did not read the novel beforehand so I might be misconstruing the meaning behind it all.
Cat debated about the phrase "man doesn't learn from history".He's right to some extent coz men learns from history but repeating history all the time. Somehow, some good will normally emerge from every catastrophe. Without our past nemesis like hitler, stalin, slobodan, we won't be where we are today.
Technology won't be so advance, the rich won't be so rich (of course, the poor won't be so poor either). There's always two side to a coin, if you're in power,u calll the shots, if not, too bad for you.
That's why man's greed is insatiable. That's why man is top of the food chain. That's why man is digusting.

If someone was giving a review while I watch my show, I'll be too coward to muster more than a stare or a sheesh. Someday, I should learn to vocalise my disdain for these creatures, in their face. Bravo MX!

V was a statement about the Thatcher era actually. So you're right. Man doesn't learn from history. Politics today is the same as twenty years ago.
