Decided to add in this post script after reading MX's list of recommended movies (in the guestbook).
I didn't watch the original version of King Kong so I won't attempt to do comparison. However, I also don't think this version is as fantastic as what MX made it to be (so MX, pls enlighten on the beauty of the show).
Couple of questions that I have about the show: 1. What happened to the natives after ann was being 'sacrificed'? 2. Why did the ape take special liking to ann but not the rest of the 'sacrifices'? 3. What role does the dinosaurs play? 4. If there are so many dinosaurs, then why is there only 1 ape? Where did King Kong come from? 5. How big was the ship crew? It looks like an entire platoon. 6. How much chloroform is needed to knock out an ape? 7. The ape is so heavy, how can the ship hold its weight? 8. Was king kong fed a constant dose of chloroform to keep it in a stupor? 9. If there's a big ape in the cargo deck, then where did jack sleep? (with ann??) 10. What's with " the heart of darkness". I dozed off during that bit. *fangirl screams AN AN AN AN!!!!!) 11. What is the show trying to put forth? - depression leading to vanishing human conscience and empathy? - love and admiration? or a man fighting with an ape over the affection of a girl? - the perils of the wilderness? - what loneliness can do to an ape?
I think the best graphics were that of the slimy hideous creatures in the dark valley but its probably the most disgusting and creepy scene. Adrien Brody doesnt look good when he's neat. I prefer him in shambles.
