Tuesday

A friend of mine was reminiscing about her life golfing, playing mahjong, sipping high teas while selling properties to the rich &/or famous. "Wow!" I said. Its a life that I only see in the square box at home. But, like me, she's now at the crossroads of her career, actively seeking a job that can transport her back to the good ol' days. Not that its difficult, but she says the industries that provides for such lifestyle are not her cuppa tea. Great! Even she, who in my opinion, gets pampered by God, is unhappy. There must be tons of unhappy souls out there! If you get a job, you think the job does not pay well. If you land on a well paying job, the working hours sucks. If you get a job that pays well and adheres to decent working hours, you'll complain its unexciting. Bah.

I admit to be one of these complainers. I was doing okay in swimming but I wanted stability. So I went into an office job, luckily in an exciting trade. Frankly, I liked that job very much but it paid peanuts and the working hours was absolutely impossible. Again I left, naively holding onto the faith that I can find greener pastures. God dammit. Fell into a better paying job with an extremely family friendly working hours, but is boring and worse of all, to be butted out in less than 10weeks. Is this the price I'm paying for taking for granted my ex-job (which i really prayed very hard to get)? If this is the price, I hope i've paid it and life will get better.

I've been searching for close to 2 weeks but zero job offers. At the same time, I hear of close friends doing well, flying somewhere in the skies above. I try to be upbeat but the worst of me kicks in. I was reading a post on one of my friend's friend's friend blog about man taking only pretty snapshots of life and forgetting the ugly bits that maybe hidden. True. I totally agree with it. We tend to have selective memories of the pleasant but forcefully chuck the unpleasant aside. And if one brings up the unpleasant, he'll be condemn. Is that healthy? In my opnion, NO.

Oh, sob sob you poor pathetic miserable dreamer. You're the tiniest being on earth and seriously, WHO THE FUCKING HELL CARE ABOUT YOU?! There are more important tasks at hand, the world is tipsy turvy, people are dying and you, pathetic little piece of shit, facing you computer screen (which happens to be a luxury) and typing away your little TRIVIALS! C'mon kid, get a life!
