I'm so angry today. Finally, I met the aceglobal people ( they are the ones that processes the application for Camp USA) and I have a bad feeling about them. Its not that they are cons but they have an attitude problem. Lisan is nice but the boss Thomas is nasty, very nasty. He did not pounce on me with million dollar questions but he kept making very discriminatory remarks both about the races and even about Singaporeans. I almost wanted to ask him why he's not a Malaysian PR but a Singapore PR since he obviously despises Singaporeans.
In addition, all due to their delayed emails and replies, now I'm stuck with not knowing how to get Prof S and my boss to fill up the referee form since i've made them type a reference letter already. If these pple had told me earlier that they needed to fill a form and not a letter then i would not have spent almost a month on preparing the letters, including my CV and cover letter. Its not easy churning out a formal letter if these guys know. Now that i am back when i started, its at least another 2 weeks before i can start on my thesis. The time wasted makes me even angrier.
But the best part of it all was when lisan said " just get another 3 referees, i'm sure its easy to find your coursemates to be your referees right?". Somehow they seem to belittle the importance of referees and if so I do not see the point in having a referee in the first place. It seems to be I could simply pick any guy off the street to be my referee. Personally, i feel that they are not giving the referees enough respect, and that disrespect puts me off even more. All in all, I'm totally convinced that this company is snobbish and for that I shall not apply through them. For all these nonsense they give, I'd rather pay more and earn less but get humane treatment.
