"......The truth of the matter is that whether we successfully keep someone from overtaking us, or successfully kick the cat, it doesn't change the fact that we ARE in fact helpless in many of these situations which face us (impending exams, overdue reports, unpaid bills, unanswered resumes). Maybe if we can start coming to terms with this, we will be more ready to ask for help and more open to receiving it. It will probably do wonders for our ability to laugh (at ourselves) and love (others), but will definitely be therapeutic for the cat."
